So I was recently booked to perform as an iPad magician in Nottingham for an upcoming tech company. My brief was to create some customized tech magic for the company with their logos and branding. Having been creating and tailoring my illusions for over 15 years this was an exciting venture for me as the majority of my bookings and engagements come through weddings, private parties and corporate events.
Whilst this was a corporate event, it had a twist. That twist would be me using my tech magic as the primary means of astonishment.
So what is tech magic?
Tech magic is a form of magic predominantly performed using i Pads, i Phones or android devices. The skills here range from pulling mobile phones or watches out of the iPad, making the icons disappear, making the phone itself change to a block of glass or vanishing an iPhone in its case only to reappear in your pocket. These are just a few examples of magic and technology working hand in hand.
But my magic doesn’t stop there. I am not limited by the technology and producing a deck of cards out of an iPad – doesn’t stop there….. it makes it an easy and elegant seaway into card magic, or changing lottery tickets into £20 pounds notes or more…..
The venue itself I was booked to perform at was equally impressive. I also perform a lot of my deigital magic in Birmingham. Fazeley studios in the heart of Birmingham’s creative quarter is one of the most sublime. – It’s a converted 19th century Unitarian chapel. Fazeley studios is opposite the Custard factory (another beautiful conference venue) in Digbeth, Birmingham and can host about 220 guests or delegates.
