Social Media Magician - How To Become a Social Media Magician

Social media magician, how to become a social media magician. So in this day and age, more and more people think that finding success, the easiest route is by being on social media and producing YouTube videos, Instagram content, or posting comments on Twitter or Facebook. But there’s a lot more to that. And ultimately, there’s two elements which you need to consider above everything else.

The first is content, and the second is distribution.

Let’s look at content to start off with. With more and more content being produced every single day, it’s difficult to climb above the noise. Yet magic is a perfect art form for producing high-quality visual, easy to watch, and highly consumable videos.

It takes a long time to become a socail media magciian.

That said, to film a video, it’s important not to underestimate how much time, effort, and indeed money it takes to produce content. Some professional YouTube magicians have a team of people working for them. So, let’s break the content down. Is it quick? Is it easy to digest? And is there an additional hook on the end that wants to keep people engaged? So often, social media magic costs anywhere from a few pounds to several hundred pounds. These tricks can be cheap, but you can equally get them second-hand. Unfortunately, a lot of social media magic can only be performed in a certain angle, as with a lot of magic produced these days.

It costs a lot of money to become a social media magician

Therefore, you might spend 30, 40 or 50 british pounds average on a prop, which will look highly visual online on social media, but this will be the only place it can ever be performed. It can’t be performed in real life simply because of the angles. So, once you have your magic bear in mind, this is the initial cost of getting the piece of magic or gimmick, because people want to see more than just playing card tricks. Once you have this, you then also have to think about where you’re going to film it. You have to consider the sound, the lighting, and perhaps somebody even to film it for you.

So, all of a sudden you may have to pay somebody or somebody has to take some time out of their day to film the magic you are performing as well. This may cost more as well, and perhaps the most challenging part is getting the performance right if there’s background noise. This needs to be edited out and equally so, you need to choose the right audience. They need to have great reactions because as with talent shows, the reactions of the audience offer often mimic the popularity of the post because that’s how people perceive the magic should be received for them as well.

Editing a video and distributing your social media videos.

With all of the filming, it’s then time to spend a big chunk of time in your editing suite. You may need to spend a significant amount of change on buying some professional photo or video editing software, or you could use Instagram or TikTok built-in editing software such as Cap-Cut. Either way, you’ll need to become proficient and then learn how to cut and edit it so that it’s a certain time to either get the correct traction on Instagram TikTok, or longer form content on YouTube. Following that, it’s worth considering your thumbnail—thumbnails have been proved to increase the click ability of the video and can hugely impact on how far it’s distributed.

It’s well known that content creators such as Mr. Beast spend many thousands of pounds AB testing multiple thumbnails before finally settling on one. On top of this, you’ll need to choose the correct music and fine tune it. So, far on the road to become a social media magician. We’ve only focused on content. Consider reviewing social media content creators such as Jack Rhodes Magic Sing Dynamo, Adam Wilber, or Rick Lacks to see the popularity of their videos. So, before we delve into what follows, after you’ve created the actual video and the content, we need to consider distribution. Where are you going to distribute this? What is your target audience and how are you gone find and acquire them?

Distribution is perhaps the most difficult element because you may have the most fantastic video, but if it doesn’t get seen by anybody, then it’s almost impossible to become a social media magician. You might find that you get traction by being picked up by LAD Bible or by newspaper or simply through social media’s own algorithm. But this is something I’m not overly familiar with, but it’s worth considering. So, we’ve jumped right in at the deep end with the content and the distribution, but let’s step right back to the start with a why. Why do you want to become a social media magician? If performing magic is your love, then yes, becoming a social media magician might be a way to do that, but this will constitute a huge amount of time and effort in the editing suite and out filming it can be hugely frustrating, but is it as a hobby, is it to support your family and keep a roof over your head?

Why do you want to become a social media magician and what traits do you need?

Or is it because you want to become famous? What’s your long-term goal? Is it to generate live in-person bookings? But either way, this is a consideration. You must also need to consider how flexible you are as well. Chris Ramsey is perhaps one of the most popular social media magicians. He evolved from creating YouTube videos focused on magic to now creating videos almost exclusively on the subject of puzzles. He possibly didn’t think he was gone start with that, but now that’s what he does. So, you’ve got to be open to flex and bend in accordance to what your audience wants. Also, consider how you’re going to build your audience. Do you have an audience that you have already established? And consider your personality as well. Are you happy to be in front of the camera? Being in front of a camera takes a different kind of personality to performing in front of people.

So, after you’ve considered your why, this will give an indication of how much time and effort and indeed money and investment you’d need to place. How do you go about doing this well? I would say you’d have to commit to 3 years of your life minimum, which leads to two of the second and third most important parts of becoming a social media magician. Commitment and consistency. Without a degree of commitment, you’ll never start producing videos without consistency, you’ll never achieve your goals.

So, we need to have a commitment to start, a commitment to produce, produce a video once a week, twice a week, or however many is you need to be mentally focused on achieving this. And then you need to produce videos or content consistently. It’s consistency, which has proved time and time again, that fills the algorithm and the algorithm rewards. You’ve then got to consider, are you doing this for monetary gain or not? To determine what kind of profile you set up on either YouTube or Instagram or other social media platform, are you monetizing your content? And if so, this may take a different type of investigation and learning. Perhaps even before you start investing time and effort in becoming a social media magician. It may be worth gaining as much knowledge as you can as to how social media works, how to increase visibility, and how to monetize your content. So, we’ve covered a few things so far, the why, what’s your goal?

Content and distribution, committing, and then consistently producing high quality videos, and then questioning what kind of personality you have and whether you’re comfortable feeling being in front of the camera or behind the camera. The next is to choose your social media format or platform. In the world of business, this is sometimes referred to as choosing your lane. It’s easy to overextend yourself and focus on all different platforms.

What kind of investment is there to becoming a social media magician?

However, the problem with this is you can overextend yourself and your content could be repurposed. But there’s a question as to whether repurposing content on different platforms is beneficial or not. Each platform has a different size to upload a different position, whether it’s landscape or portrait. So, consider one or two or three platforms and focus on that. Dig deep into how they work and begin to understand the difference between them all. Sure, you could start on one platform and branch out into another, but you’ve already got a lot on your plates

To become a social media magician as it is. Look over some biographies of how Jack Rhodes magic seeing Rick Lax Dynamo or Chris Ramsey started their channels or their platform. So, there’s some advice as to becoming a social media magician, but there are also some drawbacks. I mentioned a few before. The first is the cost. This is a high cost and potentially a low return, at least in the first few months or year, unless you have a viral video. Everybody dreams of having a viral video, but this is an exception to the rule.

You need to be prepared to invest in some high-quality camera equipment, audio equipment, the magic itself, and time to practice before actually performing in the real world. To know that this magic trick may only be used once or twice on camera and then have to be discarded. Not only that, but the world of magic, because it’s so visual and people have seen other magicians make it successful, it’s become a highly saturated market. Not everybody wants their feeds swamped by magic, and they may have already aligned with their favorites.

So, consider that when becoming a social media magician. Consider the amount of time you can afford to practicing the tricks, producing the videos, editing the videos, uploading them, taking time out to film them. And all of this has to be with high quality. Do you have a personality which aligns with having the commitment and consistency to produce high quality thumbnails and videos week in, week out, or on a daily basis?
