As a regular wedding magician in and around the Nottingham-shire area, Duncan William has become an authority on the top 5 wedding venues. Here he details the top 5 wedding venues in Nottingham.
1. Swancar Country Farm Country House
Duncan lives just 5 minutes down the road from Nottingham’s premier wedding venue. Situated just a 15 minutes drive from the centre of Nottingham, Swancar feels much further from the hustle and bustle of Nottingham than you would expect. One of the most important considerations for a wedding venue is that it is exclusive. Swancar Farm is just that. You can hire the whole Farm House for your wedding and they also have accommodation on site too. Due to the sheer demand of this stunning venue, they have also recently redeveloped the Old Stables to create even more overnight accommodation. The old stables can sleep up to a maximum of eight guests and prices start from £595. The Farm also boast a beautiful bridal suite and two additional bedrooms too.
So what makes Swancar Farm so special?
Well, it’s a converted barn for one. It’s open, spacious and the outside grounds make for some incredible countryside photographs for the bride and groom. The venue is also set back from the road meaning that it’s extremely peaceful and is easy to forgot you are close to one of the largest cities in the United Kingdom. Th main Oak Hall can seat up to 140 guests and once the fairy lights on the beams are lit and candelabras flickering away, this is a truly magical place. Swancar also boast a beautiful orangery and an old renovated farmhouse kitchen perfect for breakfast the day after.
The food served is always delicious and looks incredible every time Duncan has been invited. Perhaps the best thing about Swancar weddings is the staff. They are all super approachable, friendly and welcoming and have a genuine desire to make your special day as magical as you imagined. Do not hesitate to get in touch.

2. Carriage Hall
Carriage Hall is just a stones throw away from Nottingham city centre too. It’s house in the former Plumtree railway station and is magnificent. It is on the same site as Perkins restaurant which is a highly rated Nottinghamshire restaurant. Much like Swancar Farm, Carriage Hall is a 15 minute drive from Nottingham city centre and is also and exclusive venue meaning you can party to your hearts content without disturbing the neighbours or another bridal party.
The main hall has beautiful red brick walls and exposed beams. Above is a glass balcony mezzanine which looks down on the Carriage Hall itself and makes for some great phto opportunities. Outside, the grounds are well kept and a large piece of grass makes the ideal place for canapes and bubbly or for the wedding photographs.
Much like Swancar Farm, Carriage Hall have recognised that people want to stay either before or after the wedding and as a result have rennovated a couple of Shepherd Huts. They feature double beds, heating, WiFi and all the mod cons you may need for your stay. You can of course, breakfast at Perkins Bistro too.
How to get in touch with Carriage Hall?

3. The Walled Gardens at Beeston Fields
The Walled Gardens at Beeston Fields is another venue which is just 10 minutes from Duncan William, so if you hire him as your wedding magician you can be assured he’ll be there on time 😉
The Walled Garden at Beeston Fields is hidden behind a large country house and is set in a beautiful traditional country garden with Roses, Bees, Tulips, Birds, ancient Crocus, Cosmos, Hydrangea and more. Each season presents different smells. Each as beautiful as the one before. Inside the permanent marquee you will have a spacious room for bar, seating for up to 220 guests. In 2017, The Walled Garden at Beeston Fields also licensed the Loggia meaning they can now conduct outdoor ceremonies with seating for up to 40 guests.

4. Ringwood Hall
You have to head a little north of Nottingham to find Ringwood Hall but its well worth the drive! Ringwood Hall hotel is set in 26 acres of parkland and again is another exclusive venue with award winning gardens.
This is another exclusive venue and can accommodate all your wedding needs.
Address: Ringwood Rd, Brimington, Chesterfield S43 1DQ

5. Norwood Park
Visit Norwood Park in North Nottingham and you will be blown away by both this 150 year old house and its accompanying vast grounds. However, there is one reservation to be made with this. Whilst the house will play host to the photo element of the ceremony, the second part of the day where the wedding breakfast takes place and dancing commences is not quite as attractive. Set in a grand room, they have a number of murals on the wall and is quite a contrast to the true beauty of Norwood Hall.
Norwood Hall is especially beautiful at Christmas where the ground is sprinkled with snow and a roaring fire accompanies a huge Christmas tree. It remains an exclusive venue and if the whole wedding was in the main house itself, I would certainly feature this higher!
